ceciliak@princeton.edu

Hello PUCS! I’m a senior from Canada in the Chemistry department doing research in the Knowles lab. I’m pursuing certificates in Global Health Policy and Materials Science. I’ve been involved with PUCS for most of my time at Princeton and I’ll be helping to lead the team this year as co-president. I’m also an RCA in Mathey College and a member of PPHR, Camp Kesem, the taekwondo club, as well as research groups in the sociology, and ecology department. Feel free to reach out anytime!

Francesca DiMare (she/her) ’23
Co-President
Chemistry Major
Potential Minors in Environmental Studies, Sustainable Energy, and Materials Science
fdimare@princeton.edu

Hi everyone! My name is Francesca, and I’m originally from Massachusetts. I’m a senior in the chemistry department doing research in the Chirik lab, and am pursuing certificates in environmental studies, sustainable energy, and materials science. I joined PUCS even before I knew I wanted to be a chemistry major, and through being a member was able to meet and talk with chemistry upperclassmen who really helped me figure out my own interests. Outside of PUCS, I’m also a project manager for the Engineers Without Borders Kenya team, a dancer in RAQS, an EcoRep, and a course assistant for organic chemistry. Please reach out if you have any questions about PUCS, concentrating in chemistry, or just want to chat!

Neyci Gutiérrez Valencia (she/her) ’23
Vice President
Chemistry Major
negv@princeton.edu

My name is Neyci Gutiérrez Valencia, and I’m a chemistry senior from Mexico City. I study chemistry and have been working in the Sorensen lab for the past three years. I have been interested in chemistry since middle school and have since been able to explore different areas of research that have fascinated me. I’m currently the vice president for the PUCS and wish to expand our outreach possibilities to give back to the community around us while still sharing our love for chemistry. Outside of the lab, I TA for organic chemistry and enjoy doing aerial arts, singing with the Playhouse Choir, cooking, writing and solving puzzles.

André Koch Liston (he/they) ’23
Treasurer
Chemistry Major
Minors in Material Science & Engineering and Optimization & Quantitative Decision Making
koch.liston@princeton.edu

I’m André Koch Liston, born and raised in Brazil. Now a Senior in the Schoop Lab, I research photoinduced phenomena on quantum materials (solid-state spectroscopy). PUCS is a fantastic way to integrate the department beyond in-lab work. Currently, I am also the treasurer for the Princeton University Energy Conference, the chief editor for Scientia Prima (a Brazilian research journal) and a Residential College Adviser in New College West! In my free time, I’m picking up the habits of journaling, swimming and meditating. When you see me around, don’t hesitate to ask me anything! I look forward to getting to know you.

Kit H. Bernard Foster (he/him) ’24
Secretary
Chemistry Major
khfoster@princeton.edu

My name is Kit H. Bernard Foster, and I’m a junior from Los Angeles (specifically West Hollywood). I major in chemistry and have done work in inorganic, organic, and physical labs. If my breath of interest is any hint, I study chemistry because I wanna know how every nook and cranny of the world works. The problem is our universe happens to be VERY complicated. I joined PUCS in an effort to meet like minded folks whose love of chemicals will help me further understand the world. As PUCS secretary, I am in charge of notifying the Princeton undergraduate community about relevant events and information, so if you have any questions about PUCS related specifics, just ask me! Apart from that, I am also an undergraduate course assistant for organic chemistry, a lighting designer who works on several theater shows every year, and a lover of tabletop games like D&D, Risk, and Go.

Julia Lin (she/her) ‘25
Events Coordinator
Chemistry Major
Potential Minor in Materials Science & Engineering
julia.lin@princeton.edu

Hi PUCS! I’m Julia Lin, a sophomore from Massachusetts/Kansas. I’m a prospective chemistry major, and I plan to pursue a certificate in materials science and engineering. As the PUCS events coordinator, I plan and hold events to strengthen community bonds and outreach! I joined PUCS because I hope to increase the presence of the chemistry community on campus and create a welcoming environment. Outside of PUCS, I am an associate editor for PUMRS, the events co-chair for TASA, a PUMP mentor, and a volunteer at Princeton Medical Center. In my free time, I enjoy reading, making origami, and exploring new places.

Hi PUCS! My name is Jess Wang, and I’m a junior from Philadelphia. I’m a chemistry major, and I do research in the Sorensen lab on campus. As the PUCS webmaster, I help manage this website! I joined PUCS because I hope to expand chemistry’s reach across campus and bring students closer to faculty in the chemistry department. Outside of PUCS, I am an undergraduate course assistant for organic chemistry, a clarinetist in Princeton Sinfonia, and a volunteer counselor for Camp Kesem. Some of my hobbies include crochet and embroidery. Please reach out–I love meeting new people!

I’m a senior in Princeton’s Department of Chemistry, where I work for Prof. Marissa Weichman. I’m from Northern Virginia. My main research interests include quantum chemical theory and light-matter coupling. I’m also passionate about science education and hope to encounter many of you in that context! I was the PUCS Vice President last year, and although I’m not in any leadership role this year, I hope still hope to help set up events for the chemistry community this year. Outside of chemistry, I’m an avid hiker and harpsichordist.
